REVOLUTION Medicines is an exciting, early stage biotechnology company focused on exploiting novel chemical methods to access the small molecule chemical space favored by evolution (i.e., natural products) to modulate medically important biological activities. As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding staff who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines derived from natural products.

The Opportunity:
As a key contributor to our Chemistry team, you will:
  • Substantially contribute to the conception and implementation of innovative, interdisciplinary research projects by being an innovative, proactive team-player within our high energy start-up environment
  • Integrate with project teams as a trusted collaborator to ensure that the most appropriate computational approaches are applied to drive the progression of drug discovery projects
Key Position Responsibilities:
  • Combine understanding of theory and chemistry with experience with available software packages to deliver the best support possible to drug discovery projects
  • Partner with multidisciplinary discovery teams including Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, and DMPK
  • Provide innovative ideas and models to challenge and shape project thinking
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
  • Ph.D. in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of computational chemistry experience in the biotech/pharma industry with knowledge of multiple target classes and disease areas (ideally oncology)
  • Evidence of creative application of computational approaches to drug discovery problems alongside deep knowledge of structure-based drug design, ligand-based drug design, fragment based drug design and prediction of ADMET properties
  • Experience with cheminformatics tools and modern molecular modeling techniques (docking, molecular simulation, homology modeling, quantum mechanics, QSAR, ligand- and structure-based design) with modern software packages (Schrodinger, OpenEye, CCG) essential. Experience in scripting and scientific programming (Perl, Python, Pipeline Pilot) and data analytics (Spotfire) highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to work with multidisciplinary project and departmental teams to address issues impacting the progress of research projects is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and work efficiently in a fluid environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and calm under pressure
