General Description:
Kanyos Bio is searching for a Scientist Protein Analytics to provide expertise in developing our immunotechnology for targeted therapies for type-1 diabetes and celiac disease. This individual will execute early stage purification and analytics, to ensure drug like properties. Assist in cross functional development of research and development strategy, plan and coordinate the resources for the protein analytics function. The candidate identifies and conducts experiments to evaluate physicochemical properties of new biologic entities (fAb and proteins) to identify any liabilities that could impact drug product development.
The successful candidate will actively be involved in various protein analytics investigations of Kanyos’s lead molecules, using their targeted skill set to accomplish the following responsibilities:
  • Serve as analytical subject matter expert to support and advise design of characterization studies, data analysis and investigations
  • Design and execution of analytical studies to support process and product characterization for commercial and late stage development products utilizing protein chemistry, separation sciences and mass spectrometry
  • Interpret results, assist in authoring technical protocols reports, analytical method descriptions and analytical CMC sections in regulatory documents
  • Develop and execute analytical methods for protein expression systems, process development, protein characterization, and pre- formulation
  • Leverage latest advances in protein analytics to develop, optimize, troubleshoot, remediate, qualify, validate and transfer analytical methods
  • Develop and validate analytical methods in support of formulation, drug product development and stability studies.
  • MS/Phd in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in industrial analytical laboratories supporting method development and testing of commercial or clinical protein products
  • Expertise in liquid chromatography, protein chemistry and mass spectrometry of protein molecules, including glycoproteins, experience in LC and LC-MS method development and qualification as well as hands on knowledge and experience with immunochemical methods (ELISA)
  • Demonstrated success during a minimum 5-year industry experience in a leadership role, with a focus on pre-clinical to Phase I biologics development
  • She or he should be a dynamic, independent, flexible, well-organized, pro-active, collaborative-minded individual interested in contributing to excellent research science in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
