General Description:
The GMP production chemist will take part in the production of chemicals for clinical trials materials as well as support the production of cGMP products in a laboratory setting under GMP guidelines. In addition to synthesis, writing, and reviewing documentation protocols as dictated by GMP guidelines is a major part of this position.

Purpose:
Develops synthetic routes and methods for complex or novel research products. Acts as a technical resource to other personnel and departments. Performs manufacturing duties as required. Brings new technology and methodologies to the Natick site.

Job Description:
  • Applying standard organic chemistry methods in the manufacturing of products under cGMP guidelines
  • Applying standard organic chemistry methods in the development and optimization of synthetic routes
  • Troubleshoot and optimize chemical processes as needed
  • Support the Tech-Transfer from development stage to GMP manufacturing
  • Take part in writing of documents pertaining to the GMP production as needed
  • Maintain a supply of lab equipment, instrumentation, and reagents
  • Will train other staff in the process at hand
  • Responsible for coordinating and planning of manufacturing activities with department manager

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 4 years experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good team player
  • Experience with HPLC and GC/FID is a plus
